A Journey back to the 'Soul'
Arima was founded to help you build mental and physical fitness through yoga and mindfulness. This is your mindful space to connect, breathe, move, relax and find calm in the chaos. Arima’s sequences are gentle, steady and accessible to yogis of all levels.
‘Arima’ derives from reversing the letters in my name Amira. The name originates from the Arabic language traditionally meaning playfulness and bold. It also means the ‘soul’ in the Basque language and in Hindi. In Turkish, Arima means ‘the garden of paradise’ and which is captured in the logo. Therefore, Arima’s playful practice begins inward and takes you on a unique journey back to the ‘soul’.
In June 2022, on a full moon evening, Arima turned one year old! This milestone is dedicated to every yogi who made time to join me. I look forward to many more Yoga-Versaries!

Meet Amira
Background
I am a lover of nature’s bounty, an experienced educator and my background is replete with degrees in BS Marketing, MA in Educational Leadership, International Principalship & Literacy Coaching from Lebanon, USA and the UK.
2011
I have been practicing yoga since 2011. In that year, and after severe bulging neck discs C4-C5-C6, I refused surgery and medications. So, I decided to practice yoga to help relieve my neck pain and strengthen the neck muscles…few years later, I recovered physically! Yoga has helped me develop a holistic aura mentally, physically and spiritually.
2016
By 2016, and being an elementary teacher for over 15 years, I started my Yoga Alliance 95-hour Kids Yoga coursework and developed a passion towards sharing yoga with students in private international schools/ universities.
2018
By 2018, I have successfully completed an 8-week ‘Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction’ course and ‘The Mindful Teacher’ certification program with Mindful Schools in USA. Post coursework, I have created an approach to teach yoga from a place of mindfulness to offer a complete experience.
2020
In 2020, and despite the COVID-19 pandemic, I have successfully passed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) and followed that with completing another 20 hour Yin Yoga certificate. Thereon, I started my ‘real’ job as a yoga teacher not only with children but adults, too.
2021
And, the year 2021 was a highlight! I took a leap of faith to craft a new career path and founded Arima Journey for Yoga & Mindfulness. I have a very clear intention; to help yogis journey back to their ‘Arima or soul’ and find that precious present moment.

Arima offers a variety of yoga classes that are all centered in mindfulness and suit all levels of experience.

Private Sessions
You may request a private yoga and mindfulness session. This is a safe way to begin or advance your well-being journey. Sessions can be held in Arabic or English.

Sunrise & Sunset Yoga
The sun’s energy blesses us with motivation, enthusiasm and inspiration. In these solar sequences, we practice sun salutations and sync our mindful movement with the breath.

New Moon Yoga
New moons come around to remind us of new beginnings! In these sessions, we engage in a slow yoga flow to find inner peace, to tap into our intuition and manifest our widest dreams through mindful journaling.

Kids Yoga & Mindfulness
Allow your child to access yoga and mindfulness in a playful atmosphere! Classes involve breathing techniques, yoga asanas, mindful movement, focus and relaxation.

Full Moon Yoga
Full moons come around to remind us to celebrate our proud moments and release what no longer serves us. In these sessions, yogis are guided through a series of yin poses to access the connective tissues and release stagnant energy.

Mindfulness Events
These events will offer a series of proven mindfulness practices that reduce stress, promote peace and increase well-being. Participants will be able to use these simple practices in their daily lives to experience the beautiful moments of living mindfully.

Volonte Wellness Centre has collaborated with Arima on two occasions the Yogathon and World Mental Health Flow. On both events, our yogis loved Amira’s sessions..her vibe and the slow, gentle flow of the class.
I've tried yoga many times before, but there is something very unique and special about the way Arima and Amira do it.. The energy that Amira emits and her calming aura combined with mindfulness all make for a truly one-of-a-kind experience!
Whether you’re a beginner or advanced yogi, you’ll enjoy the flow of the poses, the guided mediation and the mindful journaling where you get to manifest your wishes under the new moon! The atmosphere was fun and light, yet peaceful and deep.
The online mindful meditation with Arima is a special treat for my soul, body, and mind. The way Amira takes us through the journey of meditation, her calm presence and gentle voice, makes all surroundings disappear and gives me a sense that I’m alone in the room with her.
I have really enjoyed collaborating with Arima and played live harp music at her Full Moon Yin Yoga events at the Royal Golf Club- Bahrain. Amira’s creative idea to blend yoga and live soft music was incredible and the mood under the moonlight was soothing.

My experience with Arima made me realize how happiness and good health are connected to ‘finding my breath’. I am forever grateful to the exceptional Amira for leading a sunset outdoor yoga session and taking us on a journey back to the soul. After the session, I felt as if my soul has been reborn and I live fully.
